Due to its distinct features of alkali resistance, acid resistance and low price, iron oxide red can be made into colorful construction material after being mixed with alkaline materials, such as cement and lime. Besides, it can also be used for wall painting together with colloidal material and water. Its strong abrasiveness makes it an excellent abrasive. It is an indispensable material in plastics coloring, chemical fiber, leather industry, medicine, painting and cosmetics. Iron oxide red can be processed through methods of copperas calcination, iron oxide yellow calcination, iron oxide black calcination, sulfate wet processing and nitrate wet processing. Iron oxide red can also obtained from industrial waste resources, such as acid-washing waste residue and aniline iron mud.
